Word from the Editor

24 10 2008

By AMANDA OWENS, Editor-in-Chief

I am in denial. When I first got the blue checklist from the registrar’s office of things I needed to do before graduation, I made sure that I wasn’t in dire need of any action, and then I buried it in a desk drawer. I scheduled my exit meeting, wrote out my full name for the graduation program and promptly tried to forget the experience.

By JACKSON SILVANIK, A&E Editor

The changing of the seasons usually means an upswing in artistic output, likely a result of new found inspiration and seasonal opportunities. For fans of literature in Lexington, there are quite a few reasons to be excited about the rest of the year. For a city that was once very steeped in the arts, Lexington has lost ground in its status as an artistic landmark. The first black-out game of the season came against a second-year program that was hoping to pull off the unlikely upset. However, under the lights and stars of a mid-October game, the Tigers started strong and quickly turned away the young program. A night “inside the box” enables students to think “outside the box” about homelessness

24 10 2008

By TORI BACHMAN-JOHNSON, Staff Writer

When Georgetown College students say they want to go sleep in their own beds, cardboard boxes usually don’t come to mind. Last Friday, that was exactly where several students spent the night. On Oct. 17, the Campus Ministries Social Justice Team sponsored a homeless demonstration on Giddings Lawn. The event began at 6 p.m., when students arrived to construct their homes for the evening.
