Cameron Allen is living the life on and off the field

Who is someone that you look up to in your life?
My father.

Who is your favorite MLB team?
Atlanta Braves; I grew up watching them as a kid on TBS with my Grandpa and Dad who were big Braves fans.

Who is your favorite MLB player?
Chipper Jones

If you could attend an MLB game at any stadium, where would you go?
Fenway Stadium, I want to see the Green Monster in left field, and see where the legendary player Ted Williams played.

Even though your season is just now starting, what is your take on how it has been going so far?
As a team we have been struggling so far, we’ve played tough competition and have competed, but have been unable to win the close games.

Which sport do you enjoy watching more—NCAA football or basketball? Why?
NCAA basketball. I’ve always loved watching basketball; the intensity and fast pace of the game, and the excitement of not knowing when a big shot or play could happen. Go Cats!

If you were not a baseball player here at GC, what do you think you would be doing?
It’s possible that I would be trying to play ball somewhere else, but most likely I would be going to school somewhere real close to home, and helping to run my family’s landscaping business full time, instead of just in the summer.

What is your favorite quote?
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7

Describe a day in the life of Cam Allen.
Wake up around 8 a.m., shower, dress, get a big breakfast in the Caf; class through the morning, lunch, study Bible scriptures and pray before baseball practice, baseball practice, clean up and get dinner in Caf, homework into evening, watch some T.V. before going to sleep at 11:00 p.m.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to fish, spend time with family and friends, read the Bible, work around our shop/garage at home, work on our landscaping equipment, work outside, take batting practice on a pretty day, watch a favorite movie or just whatever is on T.V.

Who has the best nickname on the baseball team? Why?
Matt Smith, nickname: MVP (just watch him play flag football and you’ll understand.)

If you could vacation anywhere in the world for free, where would you go?
I would go out west (Texas, Ari., N.M., Mont., Wyo., S.D., etc. ), because I love watching old western movies and I want to see what the west really looks like.

What is your favorite food?
Steak, baked potato and salad.

Describe Coach Karlet in one sentence.
A man that is committed to what he does, day in and day out.

If you could pick one team to hit a walk-off homerun against in the conference championship, who would you want to hit it against?
Easy, Campbellsville University, because I haven’t forgotten the times we have played them in the past, and they definitely have it coming.

What has been your best memory of Georgetown College so far?
All the times spent hanging out with my friends back at the apartment on East, at Bible studies, going out to eat etc… It’s the friends I’ve made and the memories.
